What are the top 3-5 SEO areas where webmasters make the most mistakes?

Al Remetch says:

*How to get top rankings in SERPs* – Matt Cutts webmaster video.
Matt Cutts makes the point that I’ve been on the soap box about for so long
on using keywords, or rather the words googlers will be searching. I see
real estate agents with house listings, but they don’t say “house for
sale”.

And this can be applied to every industry, as well as G+ Posts. If you
want to get top rankings in the serps and build author rank, you just have
to use the keywords people are searching. Preferably in the title, meta
description, body and maybe a headline.

A few good points about having a good website. For those who can read
between the lines this video is certainly worth watching. For me the most
important part from this video is that keywords are still important, maybe
not separate keywords but the context in which they are used, as well as
the title and meta description of the home page and other pages attracting
a lot of traffic.

The Top Five #SEO Mistakes According To Google’s Matt Cutts

1. Not having a website or having a website that is not crawlable is the
biggest mistake he sees.

2. Not including the right words on the page. The example Matt gave is:
don’t just write, “Mt. Everest Height” but write, “How high is Mt.
Everest?” because that is how people search.

3. Don’t think about link building, think about compelling content and
marketing.

4. Don’t forget to think about the title and description of your most
important pages.

5. Not using webmaster resources and learning about how Google works and
what SEO is about.
